Lakeside Head Wrap | Free Crochet Pattern

Hello and welcome to the blog. Today we are making the Lakeside Head Wrap.

This crochet head wrap is a light and stretchy wrap that can be worn in various ways.

I named the Lakeside Head Wrap because it reminds me of the windy beach days and keeping my hair out of my eyes while basking in the sun.

Notes:

  • Ch 1 does NOT count as a stitch, Ch 3 DOES count as stitch.
  • Right side: odd rows, Wrong side: even rows.
  • Center Sizing: Check the sizing by placing middle of wrap across top of head (where you would want the wrap to rest on your head when worn) down to ears and when it reaches just behind both ears move on to the straps. Remember that the Linen Stitch is pretty stretchy. I have a 21.5 inch head and crocheted mine
    for 12 inches.
  • Straps: The first strap is worked and then you will finish it off. Join to the first stitch on the other side of the center piece with the right side facing you.
  • Straps: The final DC of each row will be placed in the top of the ch 3.
  • Decreasing: All of the DC in the decrease rows (DC2tog) are worked in between the DC sts from previous rows starting in between the 2nd and 3rd from previous row, just like Row 2.
  • Row 42: single crochet into the top of the stitches like normal.
  • When the number follows the stitch, crochet across X amount of stitches.
(ex: DC 2, double crochet across 2 stitches)
