It was Summer 2020, I was 30 something weeks pregnant with my daughter Maisie and all motivation had finally come back to me, which I can only assume was part of nesting and being stuck in the house all year from Covid.
I finally picked up my needles and hooks again and was designing. I first designed the crochet Lakeside Headwrap and then I decided to make a knit version, the Riverside Headwrap.
The Riverside Head Wrap is an easy peasy and fairly quick project that is light, stretchy and versatile. It can be worn several ways and is just light enough to wear all year round, and perfect for holding back day 4 hair.
For my first sample I used Comfy Cotton Blend Yarn by Lion Brand Yarn and Clover Takumi 6.5mm Circular Knitting Needles. You could totally use straight needles but I prefer using circulars for everything.
I recently just made a second sample (the olive green photos) using Merino Camel by Lion Brand Yarn and I LOVE it. The solid color shows the stitches beautifully and it feels wonderful on my head.
