Seaside Kitchen Set | Free Crochet Pattern

The Seaside Kitchen Set got a makeover. This is a dishcloth and kitchen towel set created using simple stitches to create a unique texture. I made this pattern back in 2022 and it was my very first pattern on my blog. Now that I am making video tutorials on YouTube I figured it would be a great time to go through my old patterns and update them.

When I design patterns I try to make things simple but fun with some color. I want you to use my patterns as a recipe and a way to fuel your own creativity. I offer some rules and guidelines but feel free to break them, make this project your own. I hope that with every project you make you that you come out feeling even more confident in your craft.

Now let’s get making!

Materials:
Dishcloth (81 yards) / Towel (368 yards)
I used Peaches and Creme Stripey
DK Weight / Light Worsted
Clover 3.75mm (F) or hook that meets gauge
Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends

Gauge:
14 rows x 14 stitches = 4 x 4 inches
In pattern, unblocked.

Abbreviations:
r – row
ch(s) – chain(s)
sc- single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
st(s) – stitch(es)

Approximate Sizing – Dishcloth 8 x 8 inches / Towel 24 x 12 inches

When a number follows the stitch, you will work that number across the following stitches. Example: sc 2, you will sc across 2 stitches.

The directions for how many rows to do each color are below the pattern.

Color Changes – When you are ready to work your next color begin with Row 4. For a seamless color change, switch to the next color on the last stitch of Row 3 by pulling up the new color on the last yarn over and pulling it through the three loops on your hook.

Special Stitch: Sc into the st 3 rows below (Row 1 in pattern). Insert hook into the top of the hdc st 3 rows below the current stitch, yarn over, pull up loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook. Check out my YouTube video if you need a visual.

Pattern:

In color A, Ch 30 (dish cloth), 42 (kitchen towel), turn and begin in 2nd ch from hook.
